Dr.Elilarasi, Director ICH inaugurated the Christmas and New year celebration of Golden Butterflies with Child-patients at ICH Auditorium. We thank ICH for their continuous support.

Children enjoyed the Magic show, Carol singing and recreational activities along with Masti with Santa. Families also indulged in fun & laughter which brought happiness to everyone.

A bountiful hamper with fruits, cakes, groceries, a pair of buckets and toys for each child & family was distributed.

We thank our donors Wabi Sabi Health, PKF foundation, Seva kitchen, Ms. Bhargavi for bringing smiles on each and every child. We thank the group Shadow of the Almighty, Dr. Nirmala Alex & Stella Maris Carol singers for the joy they brought to the children with their singing and dance.

To make it special the children will prepare a 2022 Calendar with an Art activity that they enjoyed doing in ME this year as the main picture.

PHOSSCON 2021 Virtual, Hyderabad - Collaboration to improve Survival Outcome in India 2021 - 5th Pediatric Hematology Oncology Support Service Conference. It was a 2 day online Conference on 10th & 11th Decembe 2021 .

On day 2, Golden Butterflies was invited to present their work and activities. Ms. Stella Matthew, Managing Trustee spoke about Golden Butterflies & presented the video. Around 100+ participants Pan India participated.

GB Managing Trustee Ms. Stella Matthew gave a talk on Peadiatric Pallative Care. Project Manager - Ramalakshmi, Social workers - Shilpa, Nikitha, Physiotherapist - Priyadharshini & Nursing Officer - Saranya educated the students on the functioning and activities of the foundation.

After one and half years we were very happy to see joy and happiness in child patients and their Caregivers faces at Kanchi Kamakoti Child Trust Hospital. We started with a Magic Show by Magic Raja.

Due to pandemic suitation, we were unable to visit the hospital for our regular art & recreational activities.

Golden Butterflies distributed hampers of 3-tier Tiffen box, colouring books, crayons, sketchs, Health mix & toys along with their favourite bubbles to 20 Child-patients.

We are truly thankful to Dr. Balasubramanian, MD, for giving permission to resume our Art & Recreational activities with child-patients.

We thank Ms. Sandhya, Social Worker & the Nurses for helping us organize the event.

Medi Clowning was arranged for the child patient's and their siblings. Ms. Aparna, GB Ambassador along with her Medi Clowing colleague Santakumar performed & danced with the kids. The children had such laughter and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

GB Interns inaugurated GB Library for the Child-patients. Books were donated by Dulkal.

They raised the funds to buy blankets & towels for 50 Child patient's families with the support of Shelter Home & Lions Club.

Golden Butterflies conducted a session Our Signature session of Grooming & Growing - "Together we doddle" by Ms. Stella Matthew, Managing Trustee for 15 Interns from various colleges.

It was a Riot of colours, music & fun with a meaning to life. There is nothing Right or Wrong as everything is a learning... when working together in a group.

Fazil, GB Intern - It was more of a soft skill because the ending had an moral. "Life won't be the same as now; it will change colourfully if we all have positive ideas". We did to learn paintings, sketches and used our creative thoughts to colour the empty place.

Golden Butterflies conducted GB Livelihood Support program in collaboration with Repco Micro Finance Limited - (CSR Activity)

5 caregivers were given sewing machines & 2 caregivers with Pushcarts.

Many of these caregivers lost their jobs due to the COVID pandemic situation. This will help them to earn a daily wage & lead a Quality life.

1 Oxygen Concentrator was donated for our Homecare Project - Right Where you are.

60+ students participated in the program & gained knowledge about Pediatric Palliative Care & the importance of Counselling, Communication & Pain Management in taking care of Child patients their Caregivers.

Golden Butterflies Conducted their 8th Caregivers Connect program to sensitize the caregivers on the importance of physiotherapy for Child patients for regular physical movements by Dr. Renu, Child Psychotherapist. Over 30+ caregivers participated in the program.

Golden Butterflies Team went for Exposure Visit to Hyderabad to understand various Home care systems for the development of the GB Right Where you are (Home Care) Project.

The MNJ team headed by Dr. Gayatri Palat gave us a tour of their facilities and projects. We met the multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers & volunteers and learned how they conduct their Home Care, Hospice and run their NGO Pain Relief & Palliative Care Society.

Dr. Spandana took us around Niloufer Hospital - to show us how palliative care works in a hospital setting.

Mr. Jagannathan & Dr. Gayatri trustees PRPC gave us a tour of their hospice and the peds hospice block " Mandara" too. It was heartening to see the awesome work being done in Telengana's 33 districts.

It was a session to take forward the different inputs given by them, which was viewed by our experts in education, Dr. Lulu Mathew & Dr. Hariprasad.

A total of 60 kids were given free dental kits as a motivation to maintain a good oral Hygiene. Oral cavity is the window of our immune system.

GB Hear for you - 7th Caregivers Connect was held at ICH.

Ms. Stella Matthew, Managing Trustee & Ms. Lakshmi Shankaran - Core WINGS spoke about the work of Golden Butterflies, Precautions for COVID-19 & need of the hour about COVID - 19 Vaccination.

Talk was on getting them to think about some livelihood that would help them earn something as everyone mainly being daily wagers had no jobs. GB helped them to think about all the different ways they can have an income and GB will try and support that.

We distributed 50 bags of groceries. iGiver sponsored 10kgs of Banana for the Child - Patients. Gayathri, Yuvathi Trust sponsored Mask for the Child patients & caregivers.

130+ Nursing & MSc students participated in the session. It was an informative & interesting session with the real-time case study of Child Patients.

Golden Butterflies conducted GB Bandwagon - Magic Envelope in GB office with the "Theme Earth" to commemorate - World Earth Day is on 22nd April 2021. All Art items and accessories were made only with reusable things like newspapers, dry leaves, flowers & scrap items. Golden Butterflies Junior WINGS - John spoke on the importance of Earth & what it means to us and how we can protect it. We distributed Crayons & Drawing books to Child - patients & their Siblings. Everyone was given snacks & a gift at the end of the session. The kids enjoyed their 2 hrs with Interns & Volunteers making newspaper baskets and later filled them with stuff they love.

GB Hear for YOU - 6th Caregivers Connect session was held in GB Office. Resource person Dr. Latha M.D Pediatric Oncology Associate Professor, SRMC. She spoke on the importance of Health, Hygiene & Sanitation of Child patients undergoing Chemotherapy. It was a very interactive session. Ms. Subiksha Psychologist & Drama therapist had an imaginative session to help Caregivers release their stress through activity. Everyone was interested and took an active part in the imaginative sharing. We supported 25 Caregivers with fruits, nutrition & grocery kits. We thank our donors Exos IT Management Pvt. Ltd & BOB for their generous donation to this project.

Blood Donation Camp was held to save little lives fighting Cancer at Institute of Child Health, Egmore. Our Interns John, Aishwarya, Praveen & Abhitha from Hindustan College of Arts & Science were able to receive blood from nearly 101 out of 200 blood donors. Golden Butterflies are thankful to Institute of Child Health for being part of this Blood Donation Camp & Hindustan College - Social Work Department for giving the space.

Golden Butterflies wholeheartedly thanks Dr. Elilarasi, Director & Superintendent - Institute of Child Health & Govt Hospital for considering our proposal to help the cancer children with Counseling/ Art & Recreational therapy, Education and Financial support. Golden Butterflies celebrated the harvest festival - Pongal with child-patients of Institute of Child Health Govt. Hospital for children in their wards at Egmore. We entertained the child-patients with Ice breaking activities and other Art & recreational activities such as Clay Art & Storytelling. Nearly 50+ Children enjoyed the session very actively & heartfully. We gave each family nutritious Pongal hampers and coloring kits for kids. We are grateful to Dr. Ravichandran, HOD of oncology dept. We are truly thankful to all the donors of this project.
