Golden Butterflies had an Awareness talk for the 10th students of JRK MATRICULATION SCHOOL, VADAPALANI. The topic was Generation Z Compassion & Palliative Care by Dr. Subratra Muthukumaran. It was an interesting and very interactive session with 40 very knowledgeable children... 👏🦱👏
GB 3rd Bandwagon- Christmas Cheer program was held in SRMC... it was a lovely feeling to play games & spend fun time to bring joy not only in the children & parents faces but also on the whole medical team in the Paediatric Oncology ward. Merry Christmas!!

Today GB with support from A donor, were able to help a family to start earning a lil more to meet their daily expenses as they are dealing with an ill child. Thanks to our Wings... for making this happen.

Golden Butterflies lost our lil angel all of just 7 Yrs. She was diagnosed with Relapsed Mixed Phenotypic T-Cell Leukemia in 2017, was on supportive treatment. She had recurrent episodes, was suffering for a long time. She had a very peaceful death at Lakshmi Pain & Palliative Care trust. Dr. Mallika and her team took care of her and her family till the end. Her family was given Emotional support & Counseling by GB from her days at SRMC... We pray that her Soul RIP & her family have the strength to bear this big loss. We at Golden Butterflies will continue to guide and be with the Family.....during their time of GRIEF.

Golden Butterflies signed an MoU with two hospitals, SRMC & KKCTH for counselling of Caregivers and FUN activites for chronic or terminally ill children... effective from 1st March 2019.
Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care Foundation organised its first workshop on “Capacity Building in Palliative Care and Bereavement Counselling” on Saturday. About 60 participants including students of Masters in Social Work (MSW) and doctors took part in the workshop.
Stella Matthew, managing trustee of the foundation, said students of MSW, doctors and nurses from various departments of SRMC and representatives of organisations dealing with cancer care from Madurai and Coimbatore took part in the workshop. “The need to understand what is palliative care and special communication skills to handle children was put forward during the workshop. A caregiver also shared her experiences on what was expected from volunteers and counsellors,” she said.
Julius Scott, head of paediatric oncology, SRMC, Mallika, founder-trustee and Subathra, trustee of Lakshmi Pain and Palliative Care Trust spoke during the workshop. Counsellors also took part.
